A multi-billion shilling construction of the country’s first fully-fledged university offering degrees in purely hospitality is due to commence at the Kenyan Coast. The KSh8 billion (US$93Million) ultra-modern tourism university to be known as Ronald Ngala Utalii College, will be set up at Vipingo, Kilifi County on 60 acres of land belonging to the Ministry of Tourism. Rea Vipingo donated the land for the project fully funded by the Kenyan taxpayer.

Kenyan government to build multi-billion tourism university in Vipingo
The university, to be completed in five years, will be set up at Vipingo, Kilifi County, on 60 acres of land belonging to the Ministry of Tourism. After completion, the facility will boast a 500-bedroomed five-star beach hotel, a level five hospital and learning institution as well as a primary and secondary school for the community.
The university’s beach hotel, to be managed on the model of the Nairobi-based Utalii College, will have sporting, swimming and housing facilities that include two and three bedroom flats, and larger homes for the staff.
