Middle class Kenyans abandoning apartment homes in favour of places with open spaces and recreation facilities

Property market data has recently revealed that a significant segment of the Kenyan middle class is abandoning life in the air in favour of places where they can find space and recreation facilities.
In most towns and Nairobi in particular, this trend has effectively removed the sparkle from apartments in the high-end of market neighbourhoods such as Kilimani, Kileleshwa and Westlands to the more recently developed gated communities in the outskirts of the city.
Kiambu, Ongata Rongai and Kitengela, with their newly developed gated homes, have been the main beneficiaries of this property market shift.
