Rudisha strikes Kenya’s third gold
David Rudisha clocked further miles on his road to greatness when he added the World title to his 800 metres world record as Kenya moved up to second place on the medals table at the World Championships in Athletics here on Tuesday. The World Athlete of the Year’s victory came moments after Africa champion Milcah Chemos took the bronze in an explosive women’s 3,000m steeplechase on the fourth day of the biennial global track and field championships at the Daegu Stadium. DAVID Rudisha showed them all how it should be done last night with a commanding display of front-running to win his maiden world 800m title in Daegu. After the shocks of the previous two nights as 100m favourite Usain Bolt was disqualified for a bad start and Dayron Robles for a bad finish, Rudisha was immaculate from gun to tape.
