KenGen to use carbon credits to finance power projects

The Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) will plough back earnings from the sale of carbon emission towards addressing the country’s power needs. Speaking during the 2nd National Energy Conference ongoing at KICC, KenGen Managing Director Mr. Edward Njoroge said the electricity generating company now stands to earn approximately Ksh 1.9 billion annually from the conversion of some 2 million tons of carbon dioxide emission reduction at a rate of 10 dollars per ton. read on: http://www.imgkenya.com/index.php?mact=News,cntnt01,detail,0&cntnt01articleid=32&cntnt01returnid=75
