Kenyans stamp their authority at EA championships in Uganda
Kenyan teams extended their dominance in the East Africa Secondary Schools Championships for the 10th year running, scooping 21 medals as this year’s edition. Kenyan teams first won the overall title in the inaugural edition in 2002 and the country’s representatives competing in this year’s tournament, sponsored by Brookside in Mbarara, Uganda maintained the momentum. Kenya dominated the track and field events in the ongoing East African Secondary School games in Mbarara, Uganda netting 6 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals. Kenya is now at the top of the log with 12 medals closely followed by Uganda who boast of 10 medals and Rwanda with one.
Eight years later, Kenyan schools remain unchallenged in the region
