Tourism group to build new hotel

The Kenya Tourist Development Corporation and the Mombasa Golf Club have announced plans to develop a new five-star hotel in Mombasa.
This is the second multi-million shilling equity venture announcement that KTDC is making in the Coast region.
The venture is also part of the organisation’s broader agenda for development of the sector through provision of financial support and advice.
“Golf tourism has emerged as one of the fastest growing market segments in Kenya,” said CEO Marianne Ndegwa Jordan during the Mombasa Golf Club Centenary celebrations presided over by Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.
“It has the potential to attract more of the world-class and spending golfing fraternity,” she said.
Mombasa continues to be the country’s key tourist hub. In the past one year, KTDC has increased bed capacity in and around the town by 1,000, out of the national 2,000 increase. source: http://www.nation.co.ke/business/news/Tourism+group+to+build+new+hotel+/-/1006/1235824/-/gy7l72z/-/index.html
